Electric Vehicle Design Concepts
Until recently, lead-acid and nickel metal hydride were the only battery
chemistry options for the electric vehicle industry. Lithium energy
storage system offer superior run-time, requires no maintenance, delivers greater energy density
with less weight, longer life and safety. Lithium batteries combine the
power, performance and economics to replace the dominance of lead acid batteries.
E-V
Concepts offers complete electric conversions of vintage hotrods,
replica kits, prototype concepts and offers their own patented
fiberglass kit car bodies mounted on custom built chassis or OEM
chassis.

Electric Vehicle Concepts combines the best of both worlds. The plug-in
electric vehicle with a battery pack that can travel 50 to 200 miles per
charge, and the ability to switch to
the hybrid mode and use the gas or diesel engine when desired. Using a
gas engine to charge the batteries, propel the vehicle, or both. E-V
Concepts hybrids have unlimited driving range, with the advantages of
a
pure electric vehicle. The use of a small gas engine and
electric motor at constant highway speeds creates excellent fuel economy .
E-V Concepts propulsion systems have worked well for 25 years and is now being used in some configurations by some of the Japanese auto makers in the last few years.
It is our personal preference to use a larger battery pack and not have to use the internal combustion engine at all. The studies continue to show that 90% of our
daily automotive travels are under 20 miles a day.
The chief knock on electric vehicles has always been that they don't
have enough range for the mass market. With the advent of lithium
batteries used in cell phones and laptops, a battery pack with a 300-mile range is now a reality. With
high quality mass-production from China the cost is equal to the lead
acid battery but with all the lithium advantages.
The Nickel Zinc batteries have roughly the charge density
of nickel metal hydride batteries, but cost just slightly more than
lead acid batteries. Testing has demonstrated range of approximately
100 - 120 miles per charge.
We can extend the range more 75% over lead acid packs using Lithium battery packs . In many fleet
applications the additional initial cost associated with this increase
in capacity is more than paid for by the additional range and longer
cycle life. The projected range of these electric vehicles is over150 miles per charge.
Lithium Ion batteries can be fast charged to 100% capacity in 30
minutes in comparison to the lead acid 80% charge in 60 minutes with
high powered 220 volt chargers.
Economical and Ecological Advantages
California, New York, Massachusetts and other states have had Zero-Emission Vehicle Programs since the early 1990's. Because battery electric vehicles in those states, taking into account power plants, are far cleaner than gasoline cars in reducing urban air pollution and smog.
--- The Air Resources Board studies show that battery electric vehicles emit at least 67% lower "greenhouse gases" than gasoline cars.
Electric Vehicle Concepts owners are eligible for one-time rebate of up to $5,000 from their local air quality management districts and enjoy free parking in some of the most heavily trafficked areas of the
states, drive in carpool lanes with a lone occupant, and are exempt from some excise and luxury taxes. In addition, owners may also qualify for a one-time federal tax credit of 10% of the purchase price up to $4,000.
E-V Concepts
-- Lifetime service cost is very low do to the simplicity of electric propulsion systems.
--Your electric vehicle battery pack has the ability to supply power to your home for weeks during any power black outs.
--You have the choice to take advantage of tax credits and use solar or wind power generation to charge your storage batteries to your
transportation and housing needs.
